I bought this AC adapter for my girlfriend's laptop. I was hoping it would be decent enough to survive the beatings she gives it. After using it for a few weeks already, it seems to be able to handle it's usage. I definitely recommend it for it's price.

as said before this is not as pictured. It lasted about 3 months before we had to start jiggling it to stay in place. Now at 6 months, it doesn't work at all. The part that plugs into the laptop has become loose and can't grip the part of the computer it attaches to. Sent email to see if company will stand by the product.

I bought this item item after going through TWO of this cheaper model from Osprey-Talon (LAPTOP AC ADAPTER POWER SUPPLY CORD FOR HP PAVILION DV1000 DV4000 DV5000 DV8000). Both of the Osprey-Talon models failed completely within months, causing some definitely laptop panic each time.

This one cost more, but seems better made. I'll update if it fails, but has seemed reliable. Nothing special, though. It doesn't have a little LED light on the transformer like some do, so troubleshooting is harder. And they make it work for my HP dv1040 laptop by putting a custom tip on a generic plug design. It works fine, although you can slide the tip right off (it's not hard wired on there).
