 The Long-Term Back-Pack Jan 24, 2011

This is the back-pack to get if one is going to get a desktop-replacement note-book computer with a 17-inch screen, and wants to haul it around in a pack-pack.
The pack that Dell originally sold to me would not stay on both shoulders unless one made an after-market modification, and thereäfter caused some sort of sickeningly painful condition to develop on one side of my upper-torso, which took a great deal of time to abate. And the pack just didn't hold-up for the the length of time that I kept the computer (an irrelevant concern, perhaps, for those who swap-out their computers every two or three years).
This beautiful monster has a greater capacity, rides much better on my body (5ft 10in, 150 lbs, medium build), and at least has seemed more durable.
I think that the layout of internal pockets could probably be better, which is why I don't give this model a full five stars. I think that the manufacturer and its customers would be well-server by a survey of their customers, to learn what is carried and what customers would like to carry.

Received one of these Dell backpacks as a gift (new with tags) and it fell apart in 3 weeks. I called Dell and they won't honor a warranty unless you can prove you bought it directly from Dell. Worst customer service I've experienced, it took seven calls to them to get information and the Dell customer service representatives didn't know an answer twice and they just hung up on me. I don't think I'll ever buy another Dell product.
