5Better than expected  Jun 15, 2008 By Steven Webb "copierguy911"
I didn't expect much for the price I paid, but was pleasently surprised. The screen is very easy to read, and the automatic features actually work without being fine tuned. Far and away the nicest feature about this unit is the dual beam transducer. It has great accuracy not only under the boat, but off to the sides. Lastly the option of mounting the transducer to the trolling motor without having to buy an adapter was icing on the cake.

5Great Garmin Gear  Dec 15, 2008 By techie856
This is by far the best fishfinder in the price range. This is a VERY durable product, I love the low energy comsumption. I found it pretty straight forward to use and don't need to carry the manual around. The resolution is good, screen is viewable in daylight and the readings seem accurate. It has already made a diffrence in our fishing.

5Nice inexpensive dephfinder  May 20, 2009 By T. Alphenaar
I purchased this unit as a secondary dephfinder on my fishing boat. I was curious to see how it would compare to my other dephfinder that cost twice as much (not a Garmin). The Garmin works just as well, and in some cases better than the other brand that cost more. I am very satisfied with this unit especially considering the price. This one even tells me the depth when I'm motoring full speed across the water (20 mph). The more expensive one on my boat does not tell me depth at full speed. This is a great unit for the money.

5Great budget B&W fish finder  Oct 17, 2008 By Dean Bielanowski "OnlineToolReviews.com"
I purchased this a while back and was using it on my small boat for estuary fishing. I have since upgraded to a Garmin 300C color unit but I am having problems with getting a good reading from it. I am almost thinking of going back to the FF140! It has a nice large screen, good clarity and I had no trouble identifying features despite its grayscale screen. Menus were easy to operate and it simply worked very well. Its definitely one of the better budget B&W fish finders ont he market today in my opinion.

5Works Great!  Jul 04, 2009 By Vaughn Seavey "sportyinc"
This model (FF 140) is an entry level fish finder, but it does everything I need for a day of fishing. It has a very large read-out screen. The specs say the screen is 4", but it is actually 4.7" when measured diagonally (the way ALL screens are measured).
I use it in the Harbor (saltwater) and in the local lakes (fresh water) and it has never failed to show me everything I need to know whether anchored, drifting or going 30 M.P.H.
I highly recommend Garmin. I bought Garmin because I heard nothing but bad things about Hummingbird finders. I'm glad I bought Garmin.
