Good Speaker Jun 29, 2010 By LFSTPT
This is a good external speaker. It has a deeper, more pleasant tone than my Cobra CB internal speaker. And it produces more than enough clear, undistorted sound. At 70 mph on the Interstate with the Jeep top off I set the CB volume at approximately 1/2 and hear quite well. With the top on and windows closed I set the volume at about 1/4. It comes with plenty of wire and a good plug, so there is no need to purchase any extra speaker wire. Only minor problem was it arrived with no mounting hardware. Don't care: the speaker was good enough that I used my own.

I have owned many external speakers over 20 years. I own four of these and use them every day. I have purchased more expensive speakers but none compare to the sound quality of the bearcat. They are built in a Rugged plastic housing with a nice metal grille. Although it lacks an optional noise filter, sound comes in clear and crisp with a well rounded frequency response. They have about 10 feet of 18ga speaker wire with a standard 3.5mm scanner speaker plug attached.
FOR THE PRICE, SHOP AROUND, THEY SELL FOR UNDER $13 & YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!!!

By far one of the best values for money I have seen for sometime. I am using them for both my Cobra CB and ICOM VHF. Excellent sound an d quality!

The speaker in my old public safety scanner had stopped working properly, I ordered the Uniden 20 watt external CB speaker hoping it would cure the problem once plugged into the external speaker jack of my scanner saving me the cost of a new scanner. It arrived promptly and once plugged in the scanner has never sounded better even from new.

Another great product from the Uniden Corporation. Heavy duty rugged design, very attractive ... looks good with any communications installation you have (fixed or mobile station). Sound quality is very pleasant and it can be used with any radio with a high level of audio without any detectible distortion.

I plan to purchase another ESP20speaker one for a 144/440 Mhz meter transceiver I have hooked up downstairs.
