Read This Review First Dec 13, 2009
By Robert Goodrich I was ready to buy this stand from Amazon and guess what? I ran into it at Wal-mart for $159. It comes in a different box labeled Home Trends, the glass shelves are clear / not black but everything else is the same. The instructions are labeled Z-line - yep, it's the real thing. All the other positive things said in other reviews are true. BTW - it handled my new 65 inch Sharp LCD just fine. Only assembly problem was "bottom pad" screw holes - needed to run a drill bit through as the screw holes didn't exactly line up. That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Highly Recommend! If you have a LCD or Plasma, purchase this stand! Jan 03, 2009

For starters: I do not own this stand but my grandmother purchased it. I personally assembled it for her as well. It comes with detailed instructions so installation is a breeze!
This stand looks gorgeous, the safety shelves look good and the stand is an all-around sturdy stand. The stand features slots for easy cable-management. The TV mount can move side to side which is very convenient. The stand can support up to 60" LCD/Plasma HDTV, which is amazing! The shelves are sturdy enough to safely place all your components.
This stand has NO FLAWS in my opinion. I seen other reviews and I haven't seen a single bad review for this stand. It's sturdy, gorgeous, and is a safe/easy way to display your HDTV and components. What more can I say? I WILL be purchasing one of these bad boys when I buy my 1st HDTV.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The Perfect Compact HDTV Entertainment Center Apr 03, 2010
By Retired Ski Bum I could not be more happy with this product.
This is the centerpiece of a 5.1 surround sound HDTV system which I am creating in a modest sized bedroom. The included instructions indicate that this product will hold "most LCD/Plasma TVs up to 60" with a maximum weight of up to 150 lbs.".
This product is very well designed and very well built. The assembly process is non-trivial, but flawless, extremely well organized and quite idiot proof. The only tool not included for assembly is a Phillips head screw driver. The instructions call for two people to assemble it. But, I managed the assembly by myself.
The bottom shelf is 36.5 inches wide. The middle shelf, constrained by bracing hardware, is effectively just over 34.5 inches wide. Most A/V components are 17 inches wide or less. So, the bottom two shelves easily allow for A/V components to be placed side by side (provided each device has at least one side which is lacking in ventilation vents). You would not want to place A/V components in such a way as to block required air flow.
The bottom shelf allows devices to be stacked up to 8.5 inches tall. The middle shelf allows devices to be stacked up to 9.75 inches tall. So, the total number of A/V devices which this unit can hold will be determined by how many can be appropriately stacked (without blocking required air flow) and whether you choose to use the top shelf for a center speaker or to hold more components. My unit is currently housing 5 A/V components on the bottom two shelves. Depending upon the ability to properly stack them, there is easily room for 2 to 5 more components on these two bottom shelves alone.
The top shelf is a very good location for a center speaker. The top shelf is 22.75 inches from the ground. So, ideally, the center speaker will either be aimed up (towards your ears) or you will employ a center speaker such as the JBL ES25C which employs "EOS waveguides that evenly disperse high frequencies". I chose the JBL ES series for my entire surround sound system (ES90, ES20, ES25C, ES250P).
P.S.) Proper HDTV viewing distances and surround sound layouts now make bedrooms the best place to build a media room.

worth the buy Aug 01, 2011
By cactussk8ter Item has plenty of space, I have a ps3, speakers, and a xbox 360 on the top shelf. Middle shelf I have a dvd player as well as my hd receiver for television. And just to fill space on the bottom row I have displayed my old consoles Genesis, N64, and original xbox. And with all that up there is still space for more. It holds up my Samsung 55" LED 3d tv just fine and the swivel feature is great. Took a little while to put together but did it on my own. It is totally possible but much easier if you have a second hand, especially if you have a tv that is 46" or over. It has been a few weeks now and I can not find anything to complain about. Best little investment I've made beside the TV so far this year.

Well made, strong, swivels the tv Feb 12, 2011

"old guy"
Put this together with the help of a 16 year old male. Maybe one person could do it but mounting the tv really requires two people for safety. The stand looks good when finished and holds the tv (a 55" lcd Vizio) securely, straight, and square. Our cable box, receiver, center speaker, etc. all easily fit on the shelves. Top shelf is rated for 60 pounds.
My only problem was the screws that were supplied to fasten the hooks to the back of the tv were not the exact correct length. For the 8mm screws, Z-Line supplied a choice of 15mm and 35mm length but 25mm was called for by Vizio. So a quick trip to Home Depot was the answer. All the parts are very well organized and labeled and everything fit together well. Instructions are clear also. I really like the swivel function and we use it a lot to help reduce reflections on the tv screen for different seating positions in the living room.
